My horn volume is getting pretty weak. I suspect corrosion of the horn(s) in the engine compartment. As I understand it, our cars have a horn for high and low tones each. I'm sure even these things are subject to the Corvette tax, and I dunno that I necessarily need to replace with OEM, so is there an inexpensive horn(s) that I can just drop in? Anyone used the $10 Harbor Freight horns?
You can probably use a different horn but you’ll probably need a different connector and that will have to be wired in…I’d just stick with the OEM horns.

Perhaps post WTB in the ads section. Might find a used one cheap
I replaced mine with one of the extra loud electric horns. Cost was under $30 and took me all of 10 minutes to change the connector. No problem with people hearing the horn now.
Have you considered the ooga horns from yesteryear? I put one on my '01 Silverado many years ago and people love it. It sounds so different that people actually pay attention to it.
I'm only joking so don't flame me......or am I????? I did put one on my Silverado though, that part is true.

I did that on a brand new Ford Pinto I had back in 1971. Later that year I took it to the Florida vehicle inspection station for its annual inspection and the inspector failed it because of the horn. He said it made a loud and unusual noise. I told him, that's what horns are supposed to do! No sense in arguing so I switched the wires over to the stock horn and then he passed it. Once he gave me the paperwork I pulled 20 feet out of the inspection station and switched the wires back and blasted my Ahooga horn all the way down the street. It's amazing to me that Florida could hire such idiots to do state inspections.

I mocked up a four note Cadillac trumpet horn setup - it's tight, but it can be made to fit in the area. I have it on the bench, just haven't had the motivation to wire up a relay to power it.
No-one suggesting air horns? They are really loud. When I lived in Europe years ago I had a set of double high Fiamm horns on one of my cars. Very Italiano/Ferrari sound. And extremely loud.
Of course, you could always go the full Dukes of Hazard with the 5 trumpet set that plays Dixie....

If you do not find something you like aftermarket, check with the forum used parts vendors (Vettenuts and aescorvetteparts) to see what they may have in terms of OEM units.
