Tires?
I only wish I knew enough to give advice about tires, I am currently in the market. My approach to forming a buying decision is conservative, since my knowledge is limited. Primarily I just am looking at major players , looking for the latest design, figuring a competent company is developing new high line product to compete at the top of the market.
I am so far considering only two brands, Goodyear and Michelin. Michelin is obviously the dominate brand, but I live near a home base for the blimp, am a fan of flying machines, and I feel the blimp is one of the greatest, so wouldn't mind supporting that company. ( you should see that thing in a slow motion power slide across a brisk clear blue spring sky )
I asked a counter guy where I dropped off my rims to have the tires dismounted, his opinion between the two brands. Said Michelin constantly updated their designs, where Goodyear brings out a tire and just runs with it unchanged. Hs favored Michelin for that reason, but was unaware that goodyear has just brought to market a new all season performance tire.
Hopefully someone who buys enough tires to have developed an overview of the market will pitch in. My used car was set up for Xcross, and had a mixture of Kumho tires on it, no longer in production. the mix was more rain tire tread in front, straight line power put down in back, somewhat like Pirelli uses on supercars.
my highly respected alignment man, commented on the intelligent choice of tires, saying at the events he works, mostly Porsche races between dentists with unlimited tire money, the kumhos on my car were the choice over Hoosiers if the race was over 13 laps. I don't have that source of informed information , not hanging with track guys who burn through tires , I am forming a buying decision between only the major two advertisers in my area.
my tastes far surpasses my needs, my days of spinning out on the street are decades behind me. I am not going to challenge the limits of any tire I might buy.
I am going high line only because of my limited knowledge, but mostly because the tire is a significant component effecting my driving pleasure. I also have thrown into my buying decision the possibility of needing a tire if I am out touring in the left side of nowhere, where replacement would probably be easier sticking with major players. Buying two happy lion brand tires in outer podunk might get tough. I have had lay overs awaiting parts while out touring and it always went well, I never take long car tour with time limits, but you know what is said about prevention being better than cure.
Good luck.

I got Khmo PA 51 so daily driving in the fall and spring with temps around 27 F and random rain storms don't make me leave the car at home.
Continental Extreme Contact DWS: I have used on other cars and they were awesome, they were not in stock when I need an inspection so I
with Khmo. If I compare the two, the Khmo seem fine I have nothing bad to say but I only have 3k for miles on them so far (time will tell).
The Continentals I had in the past preformed great, good steering feel, lots of traction and never a problem in the rain, snow, on my all wheel drive car with 365 hp driven aggressively, they starting cupping around 30k (I would buy they again without a second thought). Many trips over 100 MPH with a max of 135 (limited) was always a confident performance from the tires.

Since I make long road trips in some deserted parts of the country (at least before Covid), I stay with runflats.
I have been using Michelin AS3+ RF ever since the original Goodyear's wore out. Expensive, but a good tire for me.
