Dirt hiding, swirl/scratch hiding, best to worst:
Silver
Yellow
Red
Electron Blue
Black
Best looking at night, clean:
Black
Electron Blue
Best looking at day, bright light, clean:
Millenium Yellow (tons of comments like "Wow, that is one bright car!", etc.)
Red (Classic sports car color)
Electron Blue (the metal-flake really brightens it up, unique color)
Best all-around color:
Silver (Most understated, has good looks in all lighting conditions, least effort)
Here's Electron Blue and Millenium Yellow, side by side:

White, while no longer available, is similar to Silver: understated / emotionally neutral, hides scratches and swirls well, and is easy to maintain. Silver or white make the best color choice in bright, hot environments, and attract the least attention.

Good answer! "My color is the best color" does not help anyone decide anything.
I have noticed the same thing. Different colors look better or worse depending on lighting conditions and setting. Try to see the colors you are interested in, under as many different lighting conditions as you can and decide based on that. Then add (or subtract) how much attention you want to attract and how much time you have for upkeep.
