And to put this into some prospective, there was really only one Corvette vendor offering to do custom leather work for Corvettes at the time, outside of your local Hot Rod shops. That was Vette Essentials and they were and I believe still some of the best leather you could buy. I was fortunate enough to have custom C5 Sport Seats done for my car shortly after the owner, ken, passed away and his son was still running the business.

Z06-Jim's car was one of the coolest C5s around!!

I remember that one, and all the work done on what was new at the time "true flame" style painting.

I remember that Jim also extended the flame theme to his interior.
There was also a Forum member with a Black C5 Convertible with Yellow flames.

I don't recall the yellow flamed car but I do remember Jim's. He gave a lot of inspiration and encouragement to people that did the custom thing to their cars. I've always wondered what happened to his car as well. Thanks for taking us back down memory lane.

I wonder how much is invested into the car. Can't imagine the bill from the body shop.

Jim’s C5Z was one of my favorite vettes on the forum for a long time. It was inspiration for my C5z. Unfortunately his old Z is no more. Several parts are listed on eBay as well.

What a shame and waste of a beautiful C5Z. Only 25.9K miles.
My taillights survived.
