It sort of depends on exactly what you plan on doing with it. If you're just looking for a way to secure the car on a trailer, I would use ratchet straps hooked into the lift puck holes on the frame.
I have this same rear mounted tow hook from ebay 97-04 Chevy C5 Corvette Z06 Red Rear Bumper Racing Bolt-On Tow Hook It is very easy to install in about 5 minutes and there is no cutting or drilling needed.
The front is another story. All will require some work to mount, many need to pull the bumper off to mount. Some have cut a hole behind the front plate and mounted a strap there, this is probably the easiest and cheapest solution. I made my own retractable hook but it was involved, defiantly not quick or easy.
I was referring to a mountable tow hook or even strap that could easily mount between the rear exhaust on the frame behind the bumper or upfront. Its simply to tow the vehicle less then a mile to get it out of traffic to a gas station or parking lot. Hopefully wouldnt mess up the auto trans incase i end up broken down in the middle of the road. I was cruising a few months ago when the previous owners coil ground wire rig malfuction causing the engine not to fire. I was stuck in the middle of traffic. A couple people offered to push the car with their truck bumper but i declined as it would damage paint as well as bumper. I fixed the coil pack ground wire thanks to another forum member back to its stock location.

This looks like a nice piece. It attaches to the factory exhaust hangar bolts and sticks out passed the bumper lines? Have any pictures of it mounted on your car out the rear bumper? It can hold weight correct? I seen other amazon tow hooks and the reviews showed they were for looks as the tow hook snapped maybe a cheap lightweight aluminum material.

It's well made heavy gauge steel, if you look at it, has a lip that tucks behind the chassis so you're not pulling on just the exhaust hanger bolts.. Luckily I've never needed it but I have no doubt you could use it to pull the car up an incline without any problem
I dont want to have the strap pull on the new lower radiator support i just replaced or have anything tucked behind that would put extra force on it when attempting to tow it or flatbed.
Anyway to find this on amazon as i have good credit there? https://www.ebay.com/itm/304017875272
Whenever I see one (or more) of these hooks on a street car it makes me think the owner has no faith in the car's reliability and he/she has prepared the car to be towed. Similar concept as mounting a bicycle to the back of the car. Just kidding.
^^^Same here. If you do, get one without those tiny ricer holes. Maybe ok to be towed off a track but a real hook say from a tow truck may not fit.
I wouldnt make it a bright color, its inviting thieves to yank it out of its parking spot
My truck is aprime example, when it was stolen in Oct thats what it was being used for (back is full of tow straps chains etc)
As this is pulled upwards or would have to have a low tow hitch as this would rise and tear into the bumper and radiator support? When flatbedding is it easier to hook onto the control arm? Theres not much on the front. The radiator support isnt meant to be pulled on. Looks like when tied to a regular trunk bumper with another tow rope it would rise into the bumper no?
I have one just like it and carried it in my C5, and now my C7, just in case of a breakdown. Fortunately I have not had to use it yet, but it did receive some good recommendations here on the forum.

It's towed from the jacking puck points, not the radiator support
Mines auto not 6 speed even then u have to pull the driveshaft to tow a vehicle from the rear and front wheels rolling or itll tear up stuff trans no oil.
He's not suggesting it would be towed from the radiator support. He's saying that as it's hooked to the jacking puck points, if the car were pulled from the ground onto a flatbed at even a moderate angle, the straps would pull upward into the front bumper, radiator support, air dam, splitter (if there is one). This type of setup looks fine and dandy if you're just being pulled on flat ground in neutral by another vehicle, but being pulled up onto a flatbed will cause issues with the straps pulling upward into the front bumper. I can speak from experience as my C5 was pulled onto a flatbed via straps attached to the jacking puck points, they pulled upward pretty significantly into the front bumper and flattened the air dam into it. Hell, the bottom of the front bumper itself even dragged slightly across the flat bed before the wheels started to roll up onto it. Thankfully I didn't have my front splitter installed at the time, otherwise it would have been destroyed.
OP, to answer your question, I picked up a tow strap like the one pictured below. I have not installed it yet, but I plan to attach it to the front bumper (the metal bumper itself) behind the front license plate cover with a decently sized bolt. I'll need to cut a small hole or slit into the section of the front bumper behind the license plate cover for the strap to feed through. With the cover on, the strap will be completely tucked away and hidden. Should I ever need a tow in the future, I can be pulled onto the flatbed by this strap without any unnecessary straps underneath the car. See post #14 in this thread, which is essentially what I plan to do.
Pfadt front and rear tow hooks for my track beast. I didn't care for the Nutsert fasteners so I fabricated a doubler with grade 8 hardware. This also extended the hook slightly as it seemed a bit too short. You've got to pull the snout off to install the front but the rear was fairly straight forward with the exhaust hanger mount.
yes theyll work on a base c5 the rear one for sure mounts to the factory exhaust hangar and wrap around the frame ive been meaning to get atleast the rear one incase of emergency way to tow the vehicle out of the street.
