Hutch out in Florida has a real sweet looking GS version, vert Z06. A looker and show-winner to boot!

Thanks, Larry. Here it is at the Eckler's Reunion where we were fortunate to win the best paint award.
All the paint and body work was done by
Burke Corvettes in Orlando. They did an awesome job on the car.

Re: Zo6 Convertable (Swimmer)
Yowsa, Scott! I just caught your slide show for the first time.
If I had known the car was going to attract THAT kind of attention, I never would have sold it to ya! Very, very nice.
And oh yeh, the car looks pretty good, too. :D

Re: Zo6 Convertable (Hutch)
Thanks Hutch. It still can't compare to the 2002 Z06 Grand Sport Convertible that Chevy made though. :jester

Re: Zo6 Convertable (backtrail69)
That's what I wanted, but since Chevy doesn't make it I'll stick with the vert. It was the toughest decision I had to make regarding the vette.

Re: Zo6 Convertable (C5 StockSwap)
Since the C5 was configured/ designed as a vert, its not that hard to convert the Z06 to a vert. A body shop here in Albq. has done two perfectly with all GM parts. Total cost before labor is around 6k.
My question would be why change the beautiful lines of a Z06, if you want a fast vert mod it, I did and it walks away from Z's but it's still not a Z. JMHO

Define "not that hard." ;) There really *is* quite a lot of work involved, if you want it done right, anyway. Trust me... been there, done that. :yesnod:

Re: Zo6 Convertable (Hutch)
There is alot of work to transform a Z06 to a vert but you don't have to disect the car. if you been there Hutch you know what I'm talking about. :yesnod:

Yuppa. Given I'm on my 2nd one I think I qualify.
I was simply surprised at how many little things had to be changed given there were no real structural components to worry about.
