Default wheel cap

I lost a wheel cap im not sure how as all the others fit secured. Mine is a 99 but these are 00-04 c5 wheels with the hub caps embroided corvette correct? Im looking to purchase a replacement on ebay they run about 15$. Ill have to paint it black to match the rest. Can anyone confirm they are 00-04 corvette wheel hubcaps with the center embroided before ordering one from ebay.

Well i looked and looks like these are the 00-04 c5 wheels. I went ahead and ordered one for 14$ shipped on ebay. They lock into place pretty solid i dont know how i managed to loose one or got it taken off the vehicle. Yesterday i just went to the bank to deposit cash and that was it unless someone comes thru the gate at night as well as my brothers 9-5 dollars of change he keeps in his cupholder. One time i had someone in 2017 or 2018 overnight walk thru and check the 07 g6 06 saab 9-5 and steel the weedeater in the back yard fencing was gone with the 1 gallon gas tank and back gate left open. I found out they went thru the cars as the glove boxes were left hanging open.

Heres the replacement cap i ordered i hope its in good condition im going to paint it black to match the other wheels. I tugged on the other caps and its almost impossible to lose one.
Powdercoating is expensive i want to repaint the wheels when i get the cap. Im guessing gloss black wheel paint would be the best option? These wheels look to have been painted black years ago and arent perfect the paint that is but clean up nice with tire wheel shine.

I'm sure they will fit. I have the chrome version and I had one work loose.
Good luck matching color.

You lost one or it felt loose? Yes i was looking the chrome ones cant be painted correct or they can? There were 3 on ebay for around 15$ shipped i just went with the alcoa or grey one that looked like the wheels on mine. I hope it fits. The others felt snug i dont have any idea how it could have got lost i wasnt going but 50mph to the bank 5 miles up the road maybe 70-80 on the hwy. Has anyone had experience using wheel paint on chrome wheels and did the paint stick? Alcoa is grey like the one i ordered or chrome? Someone had mentioned haveing theirs powdercoated. About how much is powdercoating? I did a set of 95 z28 wheels black one time with regluar wheel paint and they came out nice in 2008. Do these wheels look to be originally chrome or grey. I was thinking maybe gunmetal grey or the rose gold copper or bronze but not sure how it would look as far as wheel paint. It would take 1 can per wheel. I really dont want to do a worse job painting then they already are. It does look bad missing one wheel cap worse then some robocop ending rollover wreck scene.

I will probably try a duplicolor or vht gloss black wheel paint from the local autoparts store. The wheels them selves are nice no curb rash and all straight just the paint could be better. Curious to how a nice set of original chrome wheels would look. Is plastidip a better way to go or since they're already spray painted black best to just use the same color gloss black wheel paint.

Paint the wheel nuts and studs black as well as the hub. Looks different and real. Nastier.

Yes, those are the Y2K style wheels on your '99. Any cap from '00-04 will work.

I got the one coming from ebay im going to attempt one can of flat black or matte black wheel paint from the local auto parts store to see how it looks and matches? Is there any reason to sand the caps are plastic so i dont think sanding is a good idea? From what i seen i cant find a gloss black wheel color paint just satin black and matte black i guess the paint can cap represents the finish color of the product. Ill have to look into aftermarket lug nuts are expensive maybe a spray coat over the lug nuts mounted. Ive used cheap color place gloss black from walmart for 1$ but i dont think its a good wheel paint. I cant really afford to have to do the labor of painting the wheels twice i was injured in a rear end collision in 2017 which snapped the neck, tore the spine in half and broke my left arm. I try to do the job correct the first time at this point as it takes way much effort then it used to before the wreck.
