Default borla s type muffler catback

I may be able to pick up a used s type borla muffler catback for c5 with borla quad tips. They have blueing of the stainless steel exhaust tips is there a way to polish them it may just be dirty if you ask me or does everyone else stainless steel exhaust tips eventually turn blue?
Anyone have pictures of theres with the borla s type mufflers axle back systems id like to see the fitment and how they look on the rear bumper. If they stick out passed the bumper or just inside the bumper or even flush with the bumper. Please if anyone has videos pics of theirs with borla stinger s type quad tip exhaust?

If you're talking about the one in the classifieds that the seller had "sent out to have the tips blued", why don't you just ask the seller for pics? No, SS exhaust tips don't turn blue by themselves. You'll find most Corvette owners don't really care for that look...

I thunk theyre just dirty and need polishing hopefully i can get them if not im straight pipe it with 3" pilot or 3.5" red baked stainless steel and corbon fiber outside tips 3.5". The borla muffler delete doesnt sound too loud. I listened to a bunch of the round type s exhaust and they were real quiet almost compared to stock exhaust muffler delete 2.5" may be the way to go. The c5 cabin is smaller but if tips are out the back i suspect it to be quiter then 3x pipe bullit dumps before axle with headers that sounded real nice on my 6 speed 98 z28.
these are them hopefully the guy comes thru i can have them fitted to the stock over the axle 2.5" pipes. Just need polishing.

I am in market for new or used borla muffler catback for c5, but want the touring model. If anyone knows a good source to get a good price on let me know. Best price new I can find is around $1300.

The camera microphone seems to have lowered the volume when it was close to exhaust, then it turns back up a few seconds later.

This was right after putting them on in December 2020.

I like this exhaust too they just need better tips round 3-3.5" would be better. Those restrictors in the exhaust muffler tips look terrible. If theyre 2" round you could fit better 2-3" round tips would look better.

The maker told me the 2.5-3.5" carbon fiber tips red baked stainless steel tips wouldnt work on my exhaust I think theyd fit and look nice. So im back to straight pipe and 3" pilots slanted rolled edge resonators.

The ones you asked about definitely are NOT blued. You could try polishing them. I would think that would work. You will need to cut your original exhaust, and clap/weld this on. Normally, the system would come with the pipes to go over the axle. It might be tricky to get this to fit correctly. Good luck if you decide to buy it.

the guy selling them said he'd meet up with me today would take 300$ but then didnt resond back. I have the cash for them local in my areas but he always fleas on me.

With that being said i may just straight pipe it with pilot 3" tips or carbon fiber black 2.5-4" tips. Amazon has the 3" tips pilot for 12$ on sale vs the 20$ amazon price. I think 3" tips would keep it quiet and still look better then the factory four oval tips. Either autozone 3" or these two ones 4" the other is 2.5-3.5" stainless steel chrome plated. Theyre 40$-60$ a set of tips not sure which ones to go with.

The used ones you show are cut in the wrong place, if you look close the pipes have clamps at where it slides over the mufflers.

You are going to have to get those welded to your old pipes, or buy new pipes from Borla if they offer them.

Will try to find pic to show my new Borla cat back on ground before install.

Yes i see i think the stock 3.5" would work the muffler shop could get a correct or simply 90 degree mandrel bend elbows to get correct fitment.
The guy thats had them has been ignoring me said he'd meet me one night as he cut his off and put dumps behind the axle. Then said meet him in the morning 15 minutes from my house where im staying then 2 weeks later was on offerup i found same listing on facebook market place a few days ago i asked if he still had and was going to sell them said he'd contact me tomorrow when he doesnt work. Havent heard from him since so i guess ill be waiting or trying some straight pipes from muffler shop for 120$ with whatever tips i select. The billy boat bullit advertises 14tq 18hp gains. I think as quiet as they are the stock exhaust is restrictive every 10 horsepower counts im looking for that cammed header exhaust stoplight idle. Alot of new 5.0s chargers have muffler deletes. I think a straight thru bullit design is going to flow the best. Those borlas cost 210$ from summit the mufflers each but have alot of packing from what it looks like or sound deadener.

I bought them from a vendor here on CF on a Black Friday sale right after thanksgiving 2020, they were $881.00 including shipping.

Didn’t know there was a new version and classic, the one I got is called the classic and supposedly has drone, but I don’t hear it.

Supposed to ad 5 RWHP but I don’t feel it, maybe if/when adding headers drone would show up.

I’m thinking that guy selling the exhaust might be a scammer, for people further away than you, since you are close and would pay in person he can’t scam you, or he is just a flake.

Seems not long ago I found a better price on new same Borla than I paid, I’ll look and let you know if I find it.

My guess is the guys a flake with alot of deals ive done lately. Thanks for the information.
How much hp does the borla exhaust you purchased supposedly add? or is it for sound purposes?

You bet i seen alot of secret service or scams locally with marketplace items. Same guy that sold me the lemon i repaired. You have a stock engine but with exhaust? I would think it would add 10hp+ as exhaust is one of the first bolt ons or mods.
The muffler shop was out of tips so i figure i may order the 2.5"-3.5" pilot 18$ tips from autozone. If they arent correct or cant be used i can return them back to autozone for full refund as long as package isnt opened. There is this exhaust but they look like straight pipes to me? Has anyone done their own straight pipe system with literally 1ft of straight 2.5" piping to single tips and had it not hit the trunk area? Looks like it could be done with single tips and stock axleback. There is another option of turn downs behind the rear axles but that kicks up dirt under the chassis and leaks an open bumper.

With all the difficulty getting the seller of the exhaust to meet you, I would say it just might be a sign that you should move on to another seller. Scammers are out there in force and a transaction should not be this difficult to complete.
