Default C6 Grand Sport wheels

I’m sure this has been covered, but the search tool of course is useless, so here goes:

I’ve seen many C5’s with C6GS 5 spoke wheels. I’m unsure of the actual sizes.
Will the OEM C6 wheel fit on a C5 with out issue, especially in the rear?
If they are 19/f and 20/r I’m not interested.
Then I would look for GS repros in C5 sizes. However I’m running 295 in the rear on 10.5 inch rims. So far I’ve only seen 19x12 for the rear in a repro.
Thanks folks.

OEM C6 wide body wheels will bolt up just fine, but fitting correctly is another story. Most GS’s came with 18’s in the front and 19’s out back, (19” X 12”) with the exception being those that are running cup wheels or ZR1’s. (Which are 19”, and 20” respectively) If you don’t mind a little poke, or a lot, it’ll definitely work. I’d look for something that would fit better though. IMHO. Good luck.

Here is a little video I made with the stock C6 GS wheels. They will fit but you will have issues to deal with.

thanks guys, I think my question is answered. I don’t like any poke, so if I decide, I guess it would be repros.

You could consider the "Starfish" C6 wheels. They five a much better presentation than the C6 "Gumby" wheels IMO, and will not poke on the rear of the C5.

I have to look those up. I never liked the Gumby’s, but I love the depth and spoke shape of the GS.

the c6 gs wheels are imho, some of the best looking wheels out there for c5/c6. I went through the same thing you went through last year, and decided to go with repros-- went with 19/18 c6 z06 repros. Everyone was out of the GS, said they had stopped making them in that size. If I could snag a set I would have gone with them -- really awesome looking wheels.

There are few wheels available that I love, but I like the uniqueness of the GS 5 spoke. I love the ‘cup’ and ‘spider’ wheels as well as a few of the Z51 and Z06 styles. However, I’m running TSW Nurburgrings now, and unless the look is a radical change, I’ll stand pat.

I like 5 fat spoke wheels, easy to clean. I even put my VW beater Passat on AMG Monoblocks.

My reasoning as well, honestly, I didn’t think about that when I first got my C7Z06 repros. After living with 20 spokes, crushing my hand trying to clean the barrels, I gave up.
The TSW’s have plenty of room between them and their finish has been bulletproof so far.

I have them on my FRC and they look great. I run a 305 on the back and you barely notice any poke. No spacers needed

rob-cyn, they look good from those angles, but your rears look pretty stretched. what if you went to a 325?

I agree, those tire look like they are holding on for dear life. Not to take away from your car tho, I think it looks GREAT!

yeah they are stretched but not terribly bad. In person you can tell it’s not really stretched but it works plus I didn’t want to run a spacer
if I go with a 325 I would have had to add a spacer and I won’t like the poke
The car is currently getting wide rear fenders put on so wider tires are definitely coming. That was the plan all along plus I saw another member on the forum run this set up without issue so I went with it for now.

FYI, if you go with the stock size tires on those rims you will rub the inner fender well on the rears, so you will have to put at LEAST a 1/4 inch spacer regardless.

So if you went with a 325, even though it will fit the wheel better, the increase width requires a spacer, hence producing unwanted poke?

I bet 305/35/19 rears would have looked good on that car too, for a little more sidewall. 265/35/18's on the front would help reduce some of the perceived poke.

Finconsult1911; reviving numerous old threads to ask the same questions isn't cool.
