Default New Goodyear Eagle Tires

I
have a friend who has a 1998 Coupe. He wants to replace the two 18" tires with original Goodyear tires. He is looking for two 275/40/18 Goodyear Eagle F1 all season runflats.
Have not been able to find any at local tire stores. Any suggestions would be helpful

I honestly don't recommend those tires. There are better options available. My suggestion would be a set of Continental extreme contact DWS 06 plus, or Michelin Pilot sport all season 4 tires. If he only drives in the Summer, there are Summer tires that are SO much better! But without knowing how he uses the car, it can be tricky to make recommendations. I would also strongly recommend ditching run flats and just getting AAA and a small air compressor. This will improve his ride quality, reduce road noise, and can even improve traction. If he really wants the Eagle F1s, Tire Rack currently has them listed, but they are on back order. I don't think he's going to be able to get a set any time soon.

A few places seem to be advertising them on the web. It's Google time...

If in Michigan, avoid AAA road service like Covid!!! Good road service can be had, but NOT AAA. The last 2 times I used AAA in Michigan, it was beyond awful!!! They reimburse their AAA affiliate towing companies cheapskate tow rates. So what then? If you call the AAA affiliate tow company with road service needs, and the same towing company gets a call from another motorist with towing needs, but doesn't have road service, guess which motorist gets helped first. The guy who pays up front, most every time. My wife and I once sat in out car from 5:00 Sunday afternoon until 11:30 that night, waiting on the local AAA affiliate!!!!!!! They never did show up, and their company was within 1 mile of where we were stranded. Outrageous, but this is what happens when greed, and corrupt towing companies combine with cheapskate reimbursement policies. AAA was the gold standard for decades. In Michigan, it has become the fools gold standard. YMMV........
