Default seat rebuild kit

What has been your experience with the C5 seat rebuild kit - the one with the high density foam & jute pad? Thanks

The kit itself, no. But I bought the jute and high density foam on Amazon to replicate the kit for about $25. With enough material to do both seats.

How did in turn out? Were you pleased with result? Did you do the project yourself?

I've not done it personally, but there have been many posts on the forum where people have used these with good results. You might want new seat covers as well. The other option is to find a good upholstery shop. Good luck with your project.

Yes, did it myself. Just the driver side. New foam and reskinned the seat while I was at it. I also replaced the plastic shims to fix the rocking seat as well.

Shims were the most time consuming part but 100% worth it. The old ones were like sidewalk gum in the sun due to age.

I noticed a major difference with the new seat and back support foam. So cannot conclude the difference if any the additional foam made.

Everything came out perfectly. It was just like it was when I bought the car new 23 years and 140k miles ago.

I did my driver’s seat. Love the results. Seat is much more comfortable and provides more support.
