Says the man who got the Hell outta there, and we're now a fan of the man from Tennessee!! Are you there yet?? Sorry for hijack, but couldn't resist...
Also sorry for the hijaack. Yes, got here Tuesday afternoon. Car showed up Wednesday.
Step-father bought a used Silverado pickup truck from a cattle feedlot with a coating of dung and pervasive smell of cow manure. After he cleaned the bejeezus out of the carpet and seats it still smelled pretty bad. Mom put three aluminum pot pie tins with vinegar in the cab and parked the truck out in the sun. After the vinegar evaporated, the smell was gone forever.
Very helpful. It actually dissolves the tobacco residue and dissipates it, instead of masking it. It will take several passes if you want it 100% gone, but it does work.
+1 for the ozone canisters. They are like 5 bucks, you toss them in your cup holder and let them rip. My vette went from smelling like a barn to smelling like new car (still smells a little barn like when I turn on the heat but I'll live)
Funny story, I refurbished a C3 long ago, it was owned by my Wife's father in the 80's. There was a literal pile of ash under the ashtray. Wow did that stink. Cleaned that up, replaced the seat covers, seat foams and carpet and she swore up and down it smelled like new. Most of the original new car smell came from the new seat foams.
