How often do those with two tops change from one to the other?
I just picked up a replacement clear top for my coupe - original is crazed all to heck and the seals are ragged. I'm thinking of doing a vinyl or carbon fiber applique to the original to have as an alternative, but the fact that the replacement is so perfect makes me wonder. I have no easily accessed storage, so will build a shelf to fit near the ceiling over the open garage door -- but am I kidding myself that I will actually want to change the top?
I carbon wrapped my red roof for no particular reason. I think it came out great. I only have 1 top though so cant answer your actual question. But if you decided it wasn't worth the effort to swap it back and forth after wrapping it I'm sure you'd find a buyer easy enough.
You can see before and after pictures of the one I did on my build thread if your curious.
I kept my painted top in a closet for about 20 years. And my lexan top has held up perfectly 140k miles later.
Now I swap tops by season. My wife prefers the lexan top when the roof is on. I like the lexan for Spring and Fall. I do not use the lexan during hot summer months anymore. The painted top keeps it cooler inside when the sun is on roast.
Of course I prefer top off driving at all times when the weather is cooperative. But the painted top is where it's at when it's too hot..

I think it depends on where you live. I have a vert now but when I had a coupe I painted my clear top black (car didn't come with painted top). It is just too frigging hot here to run glass tops.
