What’s up everyone. I dumped some cash on a 2001 c5 before Krypto currency takes over the US dollar. Lol Anyway, I hope you guys can help because this car has these little problems I just can’t figure out. Im already getting ready to yank out my EBCM after driving the car 500 miles. Just my luck. Thank goodness I walked away from 2000 19,750 mile corvette for $21.000. For some crazy reason Corvettes are on fire in the sellers market. Prices through the roof
Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your C5! We'd love to see some pictures. Definitely start by pulling the codes. If it is the EBCM, you have 3 choices. You can either live with it, and not have ABS or active handling, or you can source a used EBCM for $1000.00+. Keep in mind that replacement will likely not have any sort of warranty. It could last another 20 years, or it could die tomorrow. Also, if you do end up replacing it, make sure that you clean all your ground wires and replace your battery before you install the replacement unit as these could have caused the original EBCM to fail in the first place. The other thing that you can try is to clean the ground wires/replace the battery, and then take the car out someplace safe, and do a bunch of very hard braking. Sometimes if you exercise the system enough, it can resolve the issue. There are certainly no guarantees though. Good luck!
Don't forget to SAVE THE WAVE!!

Welcome to the forum!!
It is possible a bad EBCM can be 'exercised' back into proper operation, but most likely time to invest, depending on codes. Also, should you try to 'excercise' the unit, this is the one, and ONLY time, rain is a Corvettes friend!!! Wait until the pavement is wet, go to an abandoned shopping center, or a school parking lot, AFTER school classes have been over for hours, and brake the living Hell out of the car. The rain will save a lot of tire wear. Good luck, and let us know how it works out............
The EBCM on a 2001 is repairable. I fixed mine myself last year. A little tricky to remove but after a couple busted knuckles and some cursing I got it fixed for essentially nothing.
