I'm not seeing this listed anywhere. Do I have to buy the Z06 plastic frames with Chicken wire in it; Gut it and put in my own large diameter woven S.S. wire ?
Do I just buy a good quality frame and make my own screen set?
I'm looking for a plastic framed, S.S. plain cris-cross woven pattern screening.
Like the one on in the ad the right hand side photo on the red the car. Just Not painted though https://www.corvettemods.com/C5-Corv...ud_p_5150.html
Problem being; Most place that advertises this you get Chicken wire / porch screen or worse yet fireplace screen that's just pleated plate material . I'd really like the heavier, round woven screen S.S. unpainted.
Thanks for the reply
Very true. I was just using their site photo for visual.
I like the vetteshop / ebay screens, but I would prefer the larger round S.S wire in the screen
Grainger has the exact stainless steel mesh. I bought some there. Maybe 10 years ago. But I'm sure they still carry it. McMaster-Carr may also have it.....
I buy quite a bit of zinc plated nuts and bolts from McMaster-Carr. Definitely look at them and and Grainger to make a grille set.
Has anyone tried using adhesive Velcro strips instead of double sided tape to hold the inserts?
Owning a black car sometimes you pretty much need to pull stuff apart. Especially on the front end around small areas like the license plate filler to get it clean.
It would just be nice to take it out to clean after stuff gets trapped in between the bumper and the screen frame without ripping out the tape and re gluing it again over and over.
All I did was place three pieces of velcro (2” lengths) on both the top and bottom of the screens. First, just install one part of the velcro on the fascia opening, then place the screen in the opening and determine where the other pieces of the velcro should go so that the velcro latches together in the three upper and lower areas when placing the screens.
Easy peasy and also easy to remove for cleaning should you have to.
Take a look in the transaction feedback section. If you order from them, there is a good chance they'll take your money, and then never send you anything. In the cases that they DO send you something, it will either be damaged, not fit correctly, or in some other way not be as advertised. They USED to be a forum sponsor, but the forum gave them the boot because they were so bad. Spread the word...NEVER buy ANYTHING from Corvette Mods!!!
IT must be hit or miss... I didn't realize we had so many problems with them-- I recently ordered custom fuel rail covers and the seat recline lever cover and seat panel cover for a c7 seat -- both were super delayed (over a month), but they arrived, and in decent shape.
