Edit: New to me 98' C5 previous original owner told me he would only run the cheapest gas available, 87 cat pi$$. I drove it home from Montana to ILL and put a bottle of Techron in at every fill-up, 93 octane premium. So far so good.

Just used a bottle of high mileage Techron the other day, always been a solid product combined with Exxon fuel.

Speaking of this I had a question
i bought Techron 10oz and I was planning on doing two doses. 1/8 tank pour then get gas, and repeat.
I saw our gas tanks are 17gallons I believe so that would mean we would need 17oz..would it have been better to get the 20oz? I was scared of over doing it

I had always used the 10oz and filled up, fixed my gas gauge on my 1999 C5, I think you should be fine.
