Default c5 convertible square setup

I have a 2000 c5 convertible and was looking at rim/tire options. I'm deciding between square vs staggered. I would like to get all seasons for the tires as well.

I don't track the car, but do want to get good performance with the aesthetics. I was thinking of 18 or 19 inch forestar f14

If square:
I've been browsing a lot and it's hard for me to tell how 295/35/18 looks. I was mainly concerned with the front tire poking out too much. Would 275 be a better option for a flush fit? Any pictures would be helpful too

If Staggered:
I saw a user on here that has Forgestar F14's in 18X9.5 +50 fronts, semi-concave. 19X11 +53 deep concave rears. Tires with rear 305/30/19, and front 265/35/18. It looks fantastic. Would this be good for performance as well? Would you say you're losing out a lot by not being able to swap the backs to fronts and vise versa? The problem is I don't see all seasons for the rear being that big, do they make these?

Thanks

You can definitely get all season tires for both the front and rear in a variety of tire sizes. The reason the car came with a staggered setup was to give the car a slight downward forward rake. This improves the aerodynamic properties of the car. However, some people prefer the square look. You will get more tire life rotating the tires that way. With that said, you should be replacing your tires every 6 years regardless of tread life. Unless you drive a LOT, you should get 6 years out of any all season tire regardless of how you rotate them. So I wouldn't make that the reason to go to a square setup. I would advise you to PM USAZR1. He knows everything there is to know about rims and tires for these cars. Good luck!

thanks. I really like the look of this users rims /tire setup. He has 305/30/19 rear and 265/35/18 front.

The problem is with all seasons I don't have that option. What my options are is...

Option 1: Any all season tire (except Cooper) the biggest I could get is 285 rear but I could get the 265 front

Option 2: With Cooper tire only I could get 305 rear/ but they don't sell 265 and I could only get 275 or 255 front

Which do you think would be the better option and look most similar to the post below? I'd like the rear to poke ever so slightly with the front tire being flush.

I'm not a fan of Square set-ups, unless it's for the track, and being able to rotate tires isn't a priority for me, either.

The staggered combo in your post works well and is a popular one, for C5's. Before I went widebody on my Z06, my wheel and tire set-up consisted of CCW 18x9.5 fronts with +48 offset and 19x11 rears with +54. Tires were Hankook Ventus V12 EVO2 265/35/18 fronts and 305/30/19 rears. Those tires are about as close to all-weather as you can get and work well in most any weather conditions, IMO.

Thanks, your setup I believe is the exact same as the above users...I was just worried about the winter season. I wouldn't drive it in the snow but temps below 40 I was thinking I couldn't drive a summer tire in right? I live in southern Connecticut and I'd say that would knock out at least maybe some of December and jan-feb

It's your choice but if you absolutely have to have All-Weather tires, your options diminish greatly. It gets pretty cold in North Texas in the winter, too, but that didn't keep me from occasionally driving my ZR-1's or Z06, both equipped with summer tires.

not sure if you saw this but for all seasons my options are only these

Option 1: Any all season tire (except Cooper) the biggest I could get is 285 rear but I could get the 265 front

Do you think one would be better to work closely to the looks/performance of the 305 and 265 front that you have?

18x9.5 wheels and 275/35ZR18 General G-Max tires all around on my '98. It previously had 17/18 - 265/295 set-up...I like it much better with the current combo and have the option to rotate. 26-3/4" in the rear and 26-1/2" at the front now.

Before - The car just didn't sit/look right to me.

I have Toyo Proxes 4 A/S HP tires in 305/30/19 rear, and the 265 front. I'm happy with them, great in the rain and grip very nice enough in the dry for an a/s tire. Discount Tire's online store can get them for you. I plan to actually go 18" all around and stagger the widths maybe and get Conti Extreme Contact summer tires.
