So I noticed some corrosion on my door speaker grills and since I ditched all the Bose crap I decided to yank the speaker grills and repaint them and they turned out "marvelous" (lol). BUT I removed the stupid Bose badge from the grills and now am stuck with that little indentation. I thought to cover it up with one of the various Corvette type badges available but they are all flat and the grill is basically convex and I wasn't sure how well those badges might take to being bent.
I thought maybe I could cut a little piece my my vinyl carbon fiber wrap and just slap that in the indentation but thought I might ask around here first for suggestions.
So, has anyone ever dealt with this and if so, how did you resolve it? And, has anyone ever tried bending or shaping a flat badge with success? Here are my candidates:
You could flatten the indentation, by using a C-clamp and 2 flat pieces of metal, say 3/16" thick aluminum, under each side of the C-clamp's contact points. I don't know the exact size of the recess without removing a grille. Or go to a professional label maker, and have one made to fit, thickness wise as well as width and length. Maybe have "C5" in it, or????

If I were you, I would create a backing for the badge to attach to. In other words make a small piece with a curved back, and a flat front. attach the curved part to the indentation, and the flat part to the back of the badge. The badge would cover the backing that you created so that it can't be seem.
OK, these were cheap,2 for 13 bucks, so I took a chance and ordered them. The number "1" looks orange in the picture but is is actually quite red. They might be a little BIG, but I kind of like it.
