I wanted another Black, gold t top 79 trans am to relive my youth. I have no clue about some of the INSANE PRICES. Let's face it, the 79 trans am is nothing more than a glorified firebird. Plastic spoilers and flares and decales. Yes, they look pretty. Instead I bought a 2001 corvette convertible magnetic red, 6 speed, Heads up display, ..loaded.. Im sure the car is a superior car in every way to the dressed up firebird. The corvette looks fantastic, has gobs of power, gets way better gas mileage and is safer than a 79 T/A.. ILOVED MY 2 TRANS AMS, BUT BUH BYE.. I WILL BUILD NEW memories in the corvette.
Back in 1991 I bought this for under $17K with discounts.
Not a TA, but fun to drive and insurance didn't break the bank annually either.
The interior was nowhere near as nice as the C5 nor the feel of it.
But is still was a L@@KER to me. .. .
