Just put on 275/40 and 295/35 Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires on the OE wheels this weekend. Fitment is good and the 275's in front actually have a tread width that matches the OE wheel width even though they are technically one size up on width. I haven't done many miles but they were an immediate improvement in ride quality over the 19x20 wheels and tires had on since I bought the car (unsurprisingly).

The only other max performance option that would fit OE ZO6 wheels i was finding were Michelin PS4S but you have to size down the read to 285 and the tire tread width starts to shrink compared to the wheel a bit much. And who wants to lesson rear traction. There are also some more track oriented tires and a few all seasons.

You will probably not find anything exactly in OE Fitment and will need to go up or down a width.

+1 for the conti extreme sports

I got the DSW because they were slightly cheaper for me. Great tires & fitment.

I daily drive my 03Z, no racing, no track but some spirited driving now and then. I have Continental DWS06+ all season tires, 255/40-17 & 295/35-18, and am happy with it. These work well for average driving if that's what you're interested in. You don't mention the kind of weather or how often do you drive your Corvette?

How do you use your car? This will make a big difference in tire recommendations.

I haven’t had the DWS’s on the vette but I had them on my 330ci and my girlfriend has them on her GTI and I’ll throw in another if you want all seasons.

I don’t drive much in the winter which to MWwarlords point, is why I didn’t get all seasons.

I just put the Continentals on my car as well. 295/18 in rear, 275/17 in front. They ride quite well. It was not easy finding sizes in matching tires.

I've drag raced, autocrossed and road coursed it over the last 19 yrs but it is pretty much a weekly driver now that my c8 needs exercise also. Continental e.c. sport looks like an acceptable choice.

I’d recommend selling me the Z06

Same exact tires here as well, and no complaints even in cold weather

Look into the Bridgestone Potenza Sport as well. I use them as my street tires so I dont run around on my more expensive competition tires. They are awesome in the wet and have a nice quick steering feel in the dry. Except for the lower ultimate grip they feel just like the 200TW competition tires. Ive only had them since last fall but seem to be wearing well with my aggressive alignment and handful of street miles I put on them so far.

I use a square set of 18x10.5 rear Alcoa wheels as my street wheels, and 285/35 Potenza Sport all around. I think they have a 255 or 245 which would work well on the front if you still have the 17" fronts.

Like others here, I'm having a hard time finding tires for my 99 FRC with aftermarket Z06 wheels and trying to decide what size to replace the front now in 265/40-17. I've been looking at Continental Extreme Contact Sports and Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 Plus. The Sports are out of stock and on backorder with no foreseen delivery date.

The DWS06 Plus is not made in 275/40 and it seems everyone here chose 275/40 for the front. The only set I can find that is close are the DWS06 Plus in 255/40-17 and 295/35-18. A couple of replies here show this as a good choice given the limited selection.

So my question becomes is 255/40 an ok choice for the front? Is it that much different from the 265/40? Will it feel or look noticeably different? My car is lowered on stock bolts and sometimes I do some spirited summer driving but no racing, tracking rain or snow.

Match the tread width to the wheel width. The Michelin PS4S may also be an (expensive) option at 265 fronts and 285 rears.

Not spending the extra bucks for PS4S. Not sure they're worth the difference for my needs. Probably going with DSW06+ in 255/40 and 295/35. Thanks for the replies!

I am wondering the same as my Bridgestone Potenza's (comparative to Michelin PS) are at 6/32 (front) 5/32 (rear). I'm pretty sure I will get a season out of them as I hardly drive it with a new born and simple laps down at NCM track during the bash. I really like the Potenza's and do not want to spend the money for the "Porsche" Michelins.

As the sizes mentioned above for the Conti's, do they have the right speed rating? I cant seem to find those on tire rack. I have had those Conti's before on a VW R32 and they were great.

I prefer the look of the 255 over the 275 for the front, the 275 looks to tall to me. I have the continental extreme contacts, big fan, hold stock C5 Z power really well
