I'm guessing your Michelins are the run flats, and you are looking to switch to a non-run flat tire? If I were buying tires, I'd find a nice brand name high performance summer or all season tire. I just bought some Continental Extreme Contact summer tires for my toy car (not a Corvette), and I love them.
General Gmax is what i had put on after researching wants in a new tire....... Smooth Quite and good traction
A close second was Firestone Indy 500. Which i'll try next
Just my input, you spend your money as you see fit
Can’t beat the Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 Plus all season tires. I had them installed on my 2004 Convertible this week and the ride is night and day difference from the run flats that were on my car. $1,035.00 out the door (tires, mounting, balancing and tax) from my local tire shop. Would not hesitate to do it again. The Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 Plus were the top rated tire, for their class, by Tire Rack. Beat the same class Michelin tires, which was rated number 3 out of 31 tires.
Nobody ever mentions Bridgestone. I have been running Bridgestone tires for 10-15 years. Had the bridgestone760 sport tires, I went through two sets of those, daily driving and HPDE events.
currently running Bridgestone pole position tire, love it, excellent so far, it’s a y rated tire, feels great on the street. Hooks decent so far with my new 373 gears and yankSS3200 stall, traction control on. I haven’t tried it with traction off yet.
I’ve been a big fan of general tire. Wife and I run those on are daily drivers. I wouldn’t be afraid to put them on the corvette.
Good luck, lots of choices, all are decent, and you might not even notice a difference between general, continental, Firestone, etc….for daily use or spirited Sunday drives.

I have the Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 Plus A/S tires on my DD and so far they are really good. I have also run Hankook Ventus V12 EVO tires on the last two C5s that I had and was extremely pleased with their performance. Lots of good choices are out there.
Agree with Rick369 re the Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 Plus rubber ..... Just had them installed last week on my 03 AE Vert ... Difference in sound and feel was so 'extreme'..... Here in Canada the price was $1540 out the door for stock staggered set all in including Advantage Warranty (roadside etc / 6 yrs) ..... Car when purchased two yrs. ago had Goodyear Eagle F1's that were EMT's on the front and All Season (non EMT) on the rears .... Highly recommend these tires
A dump truck comparison is a first for a Corvette.
Old tires will become hard on any vehicle and run flats will become harder than non run flats with age. I have owned many Corvettes since 1978 and not one of them rode like a dump truck. C5 through C7 are amazing handling and riding cars. Tires make a difference, it depends on how much you want to spend. I currently have General G-Max RS Ultra High Performance Summer tires on my 2006 Convertible for the last 11,500 miles and really like them. I had them installed last June. I switched from Michelin run-flats. The Generals have great dry and great wet traction and better road feel and steering response than the run flats. The are great performance tires for the money. Summer tires are fine for me all year long since I am in SW Florida but I wouldn't suggest them in cold climates. They wear very well. however the rears typically do show a little more wear than the fronts.
Here is a good article on the General G-Max RS Ultra High Performance Summer tires: General’s G-Max RS May Change The Way UHP Tires Are Made! (motortrend.com)
There are many great tires to choose from and many great All Season High Performance tires available in every brand. Continentals' and Michelins' seem to be very popular. I think I have had every brand over the years.
I hate skinny *** looking tires - even in the same size the look and width varies quite a bit that some brands look terrible. The Michelin all seasons can’t stand the outer tread look. The BFs have the aggressive wide as possible look I prefer. The OEM run flats have such a great wide stance that’s hard to beat but time nonrunflats next set. 🤷🏻♂️

The C5Z speedlines I picked up last month came with the Potenza 760 sports and I love them!
