Default 2001 Driver Mirror part number?

I hope that I'm in the right forum. It's been awhile since I've posted.

Can anyone tell me the correct OEM or super seeded part number for a 2001 driver Electrochromic mirror? It's the one that's heated and self dimming. The gel seal on mine has apparently broken and the mirror now looks bronze in color. I'm only looking for the glass replacement, not the whole mirror assembly. The part number I've found is 12455610 but I've read that it's discontinued. The local GM dealer told me that they could get the part for $585. Ouch.

I'm also in need of a reputable source to buy the part. Any input would be appreciated.

Haven’t looked for the factory part but posting this as it may help you (or others someday).

I did a search for “C5 driver mirror lens” and this is one of many links that popped up.

Amazon Amazon

This lays over your existing mirror glass and isn’t noticeable that it’s not factory aside from not being self dimming. I worked at a Corvette-only repair shop and we kept easily 20 of these on hand at any time. They work well.

For $17 it’s not a bad option.

Posting a screen shot for future observation.

I don't think you'll be able to find that part easily or cheap...might as well go with a regular non EC mirror replacement

Thanks for the feedback! I'm hoping to stay OEM. Yeah, it's an oldie. Only 16,000 miles. I'd like to have it repaired soon as, sadly, I'm hoping to find it a new home. I got this car from Ken Fitchner through the forum and he delivered it to me at a forum meet at the NCM!

Thanks again!

If all else fails and you can’t find a new replacement mirror, try contacting VetteNuts and see what they have in stock (they are a forum used parts vendor).
