Default C5 Hardtop for convertible

Anyone know whether a hardtop for a 2003 convertible will fit a 99 vert? Odd question I know but may have access to one. Thanks for any info .If it will is there anything I should look for on a used one?

I can't answer your question but I'd love to have a hard top for my '02. They are hard to find.

Are you talking about making a permenant conversion from a convertible to a coupe/FRC? If so, yes it can (and has) been done. Most of the underlying structure is the same, but there are a few key differences, notably the fiberglass tub that comprises the rear of the car.

If you want to make such a conversion there are a few build threads on here that cover it, but it's not a weekend project for the faint of heart. Despite the substantial similarity in underlying structure, there's still a fair amount of body work involved in making the switch.

If you're looking for a removable hard top that retains the convertible functionality, here's an option to consider. I found this via a Google search, so I have no clue about its quality.

^ I'm not sure which one looks weirder, the small window or the big one 🤔

I agree. I think it looks so weird because we're so used to seeing normal FRC roofs, so this looks very similar but "off". If the FRC didn't exist I don't think this would look as odd

Is it an aftermarket top, like Smoothline? If so, I'm sure it will......
