Default Cement on paint

I have apparently driven through some sort of liquid form of cement and it is in the fender wells on one side and on the lower door and quarter panel.
Don’t know when I did this but it has been there for a while.
What can I do to remove it?

You can buy cement dissolvers online for painted surfaces.

I did read that cement dissolver will or may damage the paint and/or clearcoat???
Also read something about a 50/50 mix of water and vinegar.
Hoping to find someone who has actually used one or the other and how that may or may not damage the finish on the car.

Me? I'd be hesitant of any chemicals or quick fixes. There is no way that a chemical will only dissolve cement and not your paint. Your sure bet is some good old fashion elbow grease. I'd take a plastic credit card and a squirt bottle with soapy water and begin to chip away around the edges until you can find a wedge to push the card under. If you are impatient, high pressure water should knock it off. You may have some light (light) scratches that will most certainly buff out.

Time is key to saving your paint when using most chemicals on paint. Don’t let anything dry out or apply in sun.
Try an Automotive product for bug and tar removal to loosen the cement first.
Then try a pressure washer; spray at a low angle almost perpendicular to the paint to try and loosen the cement. Don’t try to point the spray straight at the paint (90-45*). You can cause even higher damage.
If that doesn’t work, after soaking it with bug/tar remover again hold a cloth soaked in household white vinegar on the cement. Remember vinegar is an acid so only let it sit for maybe 1-2 minutes (and don’t let it dry out) then hit it with a pressure washer again

Good luck

I’ve used a few over the years on my trucks as I was in the concrete business. I used over the counter products and good results. The part you have to be carful with is when it does start to break down is not rub it in. I wouldn’t let it sit long but it was always on my trucks.

Do you have a top notch body shop nearby - see what they say for removing the cement residue. But you do have some suggestions posted here so you could try them on a small section and see what happens.

I used to sell chemical. Concrete removers where among those products. Unfortunately, the only thing that dissolves concrete is acid. Either hydrofluoric, hydrochloric, or sulfuric. I don't think any of those will be good for your paint. It's kind of weak sauce, and might take forever, but you might try Diet Coke to see if it loosens it up?

Try repeated applications of oil to the cement. It should start to come loose at the outside edges.

ATF - It won't harm the finish and just might help with removal.
