I'm about to reinstall the RXT which came with the Z06. It is not even broken in yet. I had the car for 3 days before the engine nuked and the pedal was really heavy vs the RST in my daily coupe. So I ordered up a custom tick master which supposedly makes it lighter. I go to install the thing and see that THE ONE THING McLeod instructions say not to do has been done. The markings on the pressure plate and housong body are not lined up.
Could this have caused a heavy pedal scenario? Could this have caused any issues with the clutch?
When I had the car, the pedal was heavy, the engagement point was absolutely paper thin vs the RST, and the clutch was abruptly on/off. Which of these are just the RXT experience, or which might be an outcome of improper install? What does the misalignment do anyway?
Broken down, cleaned and reassembled and I dont see how that might pose any mechanical difference. It appears the housing can be installed to any of three placements interchangeably.
This car has the RXT and the regular Tick. Heavy leg pressure to the point of calf extension exercises while holding dumbbells. I had a Spec Stage 3 in the early '00s which was comparable. I run a Tick and RST in my daily which is light as a Honda by comparison. I don't know what caused it to be so leg heavy when it shouldn't have been and am definitely hoping that a different and new Tick master and a brand new slave will alleviate any issue.

It's been almost 50 years since I drove a Mustang that was built specifically for "HPDE" racing. It had the heaviest clutch I ever felt. I was in my prime then (hahaha) and could hold a horse-stance squat for 2 minutes without much problem. Despite what I thought was pretty fair leg conditioning, I hadda hold the clutch down by pressing my knee with my left hand.
About 5 years ago, I installed a Tick Master and an RXT in my 03 z06. It reminded me of that Mustang, and though I didn't need my hand, it felt quite heavy. It's certainly not a "factory" clutch set up.
