So I replaced the rear end with LED a few months ago and finally got time to replace the front end. I already installed the module under the dash when I did the rear - all turn signals were working.... until the front end install
The DRL lights work when turned on, however the dash shows the turn indicators lit and the turn signals or emergency flashers on the entire car no longer flash when I try them . Yes I discussed with George at Sharplight already.... we thing it's polarity but that's a guess. Anyone else have any input, ran into this already (I hope) and has the solution before I go in to try to fix the issue???
Easy to replace. Take the button off of it (pull), then remove the knee bolster under the steering wheel and push the hazard switch down through the dash. You can get to it without removing the whole radio and center stack assembly.
Also, neighbor, hello from nearby Vero Beach. I was just up at KSC a couple weeks ago.

that doesn't quantify the turn signals..... even IF the flasher switch was out (doubt it as it worked prior to doing this) it wouldn't interfere with the turn signal operation

the turn signal flasher is built into the hazard switch on these. Sometimes you can get it to work again by pressing the hazard switch like 20 times hard. When mine went out that’s how I got by until I had replacement parts in.

so are you saying that on the dash, it shows both left and right arrows at all times? Or did you mean to say that nothing happens on the dash when you hit the turn signal either way. If the latter, it’s almost guaranteed the hazard switch has failed.
Before you start throwing parts at this problem, put the OEM bulbs back in the tail/brake lights and see what happens. There are many cases of LED tail lights causing some very weird electrical problems.

Good option, however If still not working correctly...reinstall the rear end LED lights and put the front end originals back in, as all worked correctly at that point....then if the turn/emergency lights worked as it did before, perhaps there is a defective front LED. It's a pain to go through this, but its a process of elimination...! Please advise this thread of your findings.......
George is a good guy, and knows his stuff. It's not that hard to just switch the polarity to see if that fixes the problem. I agree that it could be the hazard switch. However, just switching the polarity is a much easier fix to try. I will say that I have the lights in question, and they have worked great with no issues.
ok we are finally at end of job. After some fun working from the ground side of the car since I couldn't trust my lift from Harbor Freight....... here's the actual answer with a few more tidbits
Lessons learned -
1) not the hazard switch. it was 100% polarity, which became evident when George told me the light pattern based on switch condition. So some frustrating 2 hours on the ground of squeezing my arms in directions unknown to my body for 5 screws a side, yes the 1 handed bulb flip was a piece of cake (keyboard player skills) the DRLs are in the correct polarity and everything works.
2) Contrary to all the videos I saw on how to replace the headlights with the ACA ones..... the pieces missing are - the lock tight on the screws that hinge the bracket "take off carefully" BS get out the power tool else you won't get it off by hand. Second the push nut on the pin..... use once only - you take it off you had better have bought some in advance .... I recommend at least 4 (I bought 6) you WILL drop at least one. however they slide on fairly easy in that tight space.
3 ) no matter what you do make sure you tape the headlight access plug in place before you monkey with it.
4) definitely far easier to replace headlights and DRL at the same time, just watch your head that hood will get you if you forget to put it down.
5) When putting in the LED tail lights - install the load unit under the dash first, then install the leds - all of them before you try them else you'll be drinking on the job pretty quick. If they are quirky, start the car. They will even out and function as necessary.
6) When you are cussing at GM for a sucky deisgn and cheap parts..... well that's a vette, always has been.
