Default Oil cooler+intercooler?

My C5 coupe is mainly used for track duty. At Road America the oil temps were north of 270 so I'd like to add an oil cooler to bring those down. I was also getting destroyed on the straights by newer cars so was thinking of adding a supercharger kit to it. My question is can I fit an oil cooler and an intercooler up front?

Before you run on a road course track with a supercharger, increase piston ring gaps or risk top ring closing the standard gap and then breaking the piston and maybe the cylinder wall.
Factory original ring gap is about 2/3 of what is recommended for a blown or supercharged engine run hard on the track.

DeWitt radiators are available with oil coolers. Add a plate cooler in series downstream and you should be good to go. The DeWitt 2 core will do a better job of handling engine heat, so oil temp will benefit.

One other item is engine bay heat soak. You can open up the fog light area as well as the side fender vents for some air flow. The best engine bay ventilation is achieved with hood vents over the throttle body area. There are aftermarket kits for this mod.

Heres an example. The center vent is most effective, the hood side vents not so much.

Does your coupe have any performance mods? Might want to go with cam, heads, headers/exhaust and rear gears before exploring the S/C route. 270 (or so) oil temp is my limit, then I do a cool down lap. Some form of oil cooler is in my future plans.

I have a supercharged setup. Sorry I don't have very many good pics that really shows the space. While there is a little bit of room, you really need that space for airflow. I feel like putting the cooler off to the side outside of the custom airbox would be your best bet. You could open up the fog light area there to get air to the oil cooler. I can try to get you better picture later, but this is the best I have for now.

Exactly where is the intercooler?

I have posted about my experience. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ons-today.html

TL;DR:

MP112 gen 5. Intercooler in front of radiator. Radiator is now Dewitts + SPAL fan combo, standard manual option, no included coolers. Improved Racing's biggest oil cooler (MX-245) mounted in front of the license plate, which means a hole cut in the bumper (but covered by lic plate or mesh grill - looks entirely factory with plate, or pretty factory with grill.) This required 6.5 foot hose lengths, which is not their new plug-and-play C5 oil cooler kit. Obviously also a thermostat, 200F in my case, though it doesn't matter much. I used BMRS pre-fab lines with firehose over them. Also a few AN hose separators, mounting brackets, etc. Contact Dewitts and IR and you'll have a setup that's "pretty good." An experienced driver on a hot day will still go past its limits, but it'll take way longer.

So you're having what you perceive to be temperature issues and you want to add a (heat adding) supercharger? I put my oil cooler behind the license plate like gimp, but I'm N/A. I didn't want to add any more heat to the already hot water. After I quite tracking the car I swapped the stock fans for a Spal fan and highway cooling was improved, so I'm certain track cooling would have been as well. Eliminating the factory shroud makes a big difference on our 4th gen Camaros on the road course. So I would first change to a HO fan that isn't shrouded, add an oil cooler, and not worry about all the guys in higher hp cars blowing by you on the straights. If that's all you care about, go back to drag racing. Get your car solid before even thinking about trying to make it faster. Also, 270 isn't shjt for oil temps. I've run mine well past 300 many a time in the Camaro and had the engine down to a short block this past winter. Looked the same as when I put it together back in 2015, dynos the same too. Just make sure you're running a good oil.

I did a an oil cooler for track days. Dropped temp from 290 to 230. I can send you all the info if you want.
