my gas gauge is stuck at zero guys, and i believe i need to replace my fuel pumps however the fuel pumps for early c5 corvette are discontinue so i was wondering if I bought the 2000-2004 fuel pump for my corvette will it read my gas?
You need to get the correct pump. The '00-'04 will not work on a '99. With that said, just because your gauge is at zero doesn't necessarily means you need a new pump. If you have gas in the car, and it starts and runs, I would try running a few bottles of Techron through your tank. This is a known solution to the fuel gauge issue that you describe. Be aware it may take several bottles (one per fill-up) before it starts to work.

thank you for the fast reply. i appreciate that a lot ive been reading on how techron helps corvette fuel pump. so im wondering how many Techron should i buy that hopefully fixes my issue. as well if it is my fuel pump that need to be replace where should i buy i tried race tronic they no longer selling the pump i need
The number of bottles of Techron needed varies from case to case. You can usually find BOGO deals for Techron at a lot of auto parts stores. As such, I would start by buying 2 20oz bottles and start with that. I don't know how much you drive, so I don't know how long it will take you to go through that. However, that's a good start. It may take a good bit more than that though (or it may not). It's hard to say.
If you do end up needing a new pump, I wasn't aware that they were that hard to find. When I tried googling 1999 Corvette fuel pump, I got lots of hits.

It does NOT necessarily do anything for the fuel PUMP, as Monty has said. What it does do is clean sulphur buildup from the fuel SENDING UNIT(s)! You are semmingly stuck on fuel PUMP!! I have never seen, or read anything about Techron helping a C5, or any other brand/model, fuel PUMP. Take your car out on a freeway on ramp, foot to the floor, and if it accelerates smoothly to redline in each gear, no hesitations or misfiring, you're good. You'll see quickly whether your pump and/or fuel filter, are defective/dirty, because when an engine is at high rpm under load, that situation exposes marginal coils/plug wires/spark plugs, insufficient fuel delivery, etc. Hope this helps.......

hey my car is a 1999 c5 corvette and my fuel pumps might need to be replace however i ran into some issue my fuel pump has been discontinue by GM so i need to find some aftermarket parts but it been hard finding the parts since they only have later gen c5 fuel pumps. i need the 1997-1999 c5 fuel pumps does anybody know where i can find them either used or any aftermarket that they used for their 1999 corvettes?
