Wedging that between the dash and the bezel seems like a bad idea to me. The bezel has already been shown to have gaps at the top right and this product looks like it would help make the gap bigger

Good point, looking closer at their picture you posted I can see that the clip does appear to push the bezel down a tad. I really like that phone position, though...

It’s not wedged and it
applies zero pressure on the bezel if it’s touching it at all. It’s anchored with a screw that’s already on the car.

I think they could have used a better C5 model in the pics and the video installation overview. It seems the one they used has an aftermarket head unit that pushed the bezel out and caused the gap. Good to know that this mount option doesn't appear to do that. Pretty clean.
I'm in the process of installing a new double din bezel as part of a larger interior upgrade project I'm working on and now would be a good time to add this type of mount since the bezel is already off. I'm also considering the ProClip as well but that one does wedge between the bezel and the dash. Not as high up however. I like the ProClip I have in my C7Z.
I have had ProClip mounts in my Miata, 350z, Subarus, etc. I'm a fan of them. However, the C5 ProClip mount is a terrible location and too low for when I want to do a quick report on Waze or just glancing at the gps in general. Whenever I have a passenger in the car, they complain they can't see/adjust their side temp as easily (I have the digital/dual hvac unit) so that Course Motorsport mount looks like a better option, and also closer to my hands so I can report the fuzz on Waze quicker.
edit: I ordered the Course Motorsport mount so if anyone wants to buy my Proclip mount, lemme know

Little bit of a bump, I recently (finally) got the Course Motorsports mount installed. IMO it's the best option for what I wanted and it doesn't seem to affect fitment of the center console. Previously I used a goose neck mount that anchored in the cup holder; I liked the phone holder part of it, so stuck the magnetic plate onto that.
Since the cup holders in the C5 are trash, I bought one of these from Amazon, cost like $15 and works great!!! The base is adjustable so it will fits good and tight..
yeah, proclip has a goosneck I think -- before I went with a double din with/ bluetooth connect, I had my phone on one of their goosnecks ... bolts to the front seat bolt on the passenger seat, comes up along the side of the center console. I'll try to get a pic, but that was imo the best way to mount -- routing wires was super easy, didn't take up any storage space, didn't have to deal with a vent clip.

That's the style I had previously. I didn't like the cup holder mount, much prefer the Course Motorsports option but it of course has a much higher pricetag.
