Please be careful with VetteNuts if you need a double DIN (4x7). I thought I did my diligence. Prior to purchasing, I sent emails with questions and even called and talked to M and gave the dimensions 4x7. “Yes, it fits… we do these all the time”.
I feel misled.
I received a bezel that was too small both vertically and horizontally. I followed up, but didn’t get a timely response… so I grabbed a file. It took along time, and I’m not happy with the result.
Also, there is but a sliver left b/t the HU and HVAC…VERY difficult to file w/o breaking.
I wasn’t expecting this, but hopefully others will be.

Never saw this happen before as I thought most DD units shared the same external dimensions for universal fit. What brand/model head unit are you running?

That looks like the EINCAR radio that I have. It is slightly larger than the double din opening on my Metra bezel. So it took care to exactly center it behind the opening of the bezel. It does not poke through the opening. Din opening is 7x4 inches. Radio is 7.087x3.95 inches. That's a pretty tight fit.

That’s strange, I initially installed an Alpine double din in my car and then swapped it out with a Pioneer and both fit perfectly.

I just went out and measured my old DD bezel and my new DD bezel from VetteNuts. Because the new bezel from VetteNuts includes the OEM lower power outlet/ashtray lid the head unit opening and HVAC opening sections are slightly higher than my older DD bezel that did not have that lower section. The cross beams are also obviously a little thinner so when I go to install the new bezel, I'm expecting to have to slightly adjust the DD head unit and HVAC unit up accordingly to match up with the new bezel openings.
As to dimensions below are my measurements. The VetteNuts opening is only slightly smaller (2/16") in height than my older bezel. I also measure my Kenwood head unit where the fold out screen fits and included those measurements.
Below are a side-by-side comparison. At this point, it looks like it will all fit together correctly, however I will know for sure when I go to install the new pieces in a couple of weeks.
if you can find it, the old school bezel from DD mods is my favorite. Had mine wrapped in leather by a local upholsterer.
My original leather half-wrap bezel was provided by DD Mods. It's a nice bezel and worked well, but it was a modified OEM bezel and the VetteNuts bezel seems to be a custom, DD mold. Below are pics comparing the backsides.
I see no one is posting pictures of their after market double din bezels from the passenger side .
I just installed my new Vettenuts DD bezel that I had refinished by American Hydrocarbon. Fit is perfect from the passenger side. Better than the OEM bezel.

I don't sit in the passenger side. I reserve that privilege for those that are lucky enough to ride with me.
I've been thinking of doing the same Bezel in mine but couldn't decide between the red or Carbon. I'm really liking the red. Where did you get that one? I see them on CorvetteMods for like $499 painted or CF finish.

Before you purchase from Corvette mods, check the transaction forum, they have been banned from Corvette forum for terrible service

I would stay away from Corvette Mods even for drop-ship orders due to their poor customer service reputation they have earned over the years. Find the bezel you want and then contact Pat @ American Hydrocarbon (Forum Sponsor) and he can refinish it any way you want, either paint or hydrocarbon. I really like the sleek, non-glossy Matt Carbon Fiber finish of my dashboard in my C7Z and asked Pat to duplicate the finish on my C5 double din bezel (and traction control plate/center console) and he nailed it.
Yea, I have bought a few things from them with questionable results. I got my stuff just took a lot longer then they said it was going to take. telling me a part was in stock then 2 weeks later asking where it was only to be told they were checking with the mfg.
That's why I was asking hoping for another place.
