part availability
any info on availability of replacement steering column clam shells for a c5? c6 pieces all over ebay but no c5 models. I understand the c5 part has a common failure, should have a vender supplier somewhere.

Just my .02, but finding one with no damage at all will probably be tough. I bought one from Vettenuts, and by using some JB Weld, and some plastic from my original one, I was able to make a very nice one out of 2 different parts. Timing is everything. When I talked to Marc, he told me he didn't have any pristine ones at that time, but would send me the best one he had. At this current time, he may have that pristine part. Give him a call, he is an honest, straight shooter. Another place is C&S Corvettes in Florida. Good luck to you......

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I think that I lucked out and found a good one from Corvette Salvage in PA. The owner says it looks nice and is on its way. 50bucks +15 shipping is not bad I believe.
