Default Hello brothers,

My car started having the issue of pull key wait 10 sec.. so I do and it usually starts up and runs fine with the traction control off, but a couple days ago I got the steering column notification on my dash. The column didn’t actually lock it just was showing the code so I ordered a LMC5 lock module only to find out that my car already had one installed. Anyone have any advice? Should I install the new one and test it? I have a spare bcm I was considering installing as well if the new LMC5 didn’t work. Should I just try to pull the EBCM and resolder it? Thanks in advance bros.

You might need to do the brown wire mod on the old LMC5, or if you choose to install the new one, then do the brown wire mod right off the bat.

Edit, it's hard to tell in the photo, but it seems like the dark green wire is going the right way to the big pink plug, but I seem to remember that 3 wires from the LMC5 went to the small plug. I am likely mistaken, so the point is to read the instructions very carefully and confirm that the old unit is installed correctly. I also can't really tell if the brown wire loop coming out of the LMC5 is cut. It should be for the brown wire mod. I would also be suspicious of the spade connector in the middle of the orange wire.
