Default how to stop dash splitting

I think I see a split forming in my dash right above the instrument cluster where the dash is at it's closest to the steering wheel. In other words, at the thinnest part of the dash. It hasn't actually split and may just be the 'grain' of the material but I don't want it to get any worse if it is actually starting to split. What can I do about it? Is there something I can treat it with to make it more supple, or pliable? Is this a typical problem for C5s? I've only had my car for 4 days and just noticed it today.

Can you put up a picture? You say you "think" you see something forming but are not sure, so please put up a photo and we can see whats up.

See what I mean? I can't tell if it's the start of a crack or just the way it is. If it's the start of a crack I want to stop it from getting any worse.

You are good-- that is not a crack from the picture angle. This is "just way it is."

If you are worried, get a dash mat and keep the area moist with silicone treatment.

Second that…. Looks normal.

I use good old armor all natural/matte finish on plastic interior surfaces.

Avoiding the sun, and to a much lesser degree avoiding oxygen is really it, but that picture isn’t bad as others have mentioned.

I thought I was on top of things but yours must be pretty nice if that’s the main concern.

lol.. No, it's nice but not pristine. I'm just picky, I guess. Plus, I really don't want to have to replace a dash because of an ugly crack directly in front of me when driving. Too much money and work involved if a simple fix could have prevented it.

Thanks all, I appreciate the advice and input.
