Has anyone taken apart one of the OLD mgw shift *****?
I'm guessing it is glued to the round base. I also don't want to bend or break it by forcing it out as I want to reuse it. The newer discs seem to be aluminum and anodized. I don't think I could get the same polished pattern out of one of those.
I have the urge to take the center panel out, paint it black and keep the shift pattern polished. I'll also polish the stainless base ring since it has about a decade of scuff marks.
