Default Tire Fitment

What is the largest size tire anyone has put on the rear of a C5 rear wheel (stock wheel) ? I will have wide body fenders as far as room to work with. Any advice ?
I like my C5 wheels and really don't want to replace them. Thanks

Not from my experience, but from seeing what others post.

Wide tire
305 35 18 or
315 30 18

tall tire
295 40 18

Good Luck.

I need tires. I was thinking 295/35 18 and 275/40 17 but Continental Extremecontact have supply issues. I might do what you did. Looks good. Only problem is that's an inch taller in the back. How is the speedo error?

Get them widened. Or get another set and get them widened. Narrow wheels and widebody do not mix well.

I've done this with GTO factory wheels, look worked and performed great. Contact Weldcraft, they do this all the time.

However personally I'd spring for a set of light wider wheels, for exponential weight savings, and proper wider tire fitment (don't skimp).

EDIT
I just noticed 'Z06' in the thread title. Those are 10.5" wide (w/295 stock).....however same theory holds.

You could look at the Nitto NT555 G2 for the front 275/40r17 and the Nitto NT555II for the rear 305/35r18. Nitto's website say they are designed to go together as a front/rear combo.

The limitation is the wheel width. I'll assume you're talking the base C5 9.5" wheel. 285 is technically the widest, maybe a 295 but that's pushing it.
you really shouldn't do widebody if you don't want to do wheels. it looks unfinished, and not thought out. especially if you're not taking the advantage by getting more tire.
