The SEMA Garage has opened a facility about 3/4 mile north of my house and our local Corvette Club had the General Manager as a speaker last night, Very informative, especially when it comes to performance verification. When you see products that have the SEMA approval, you know the claims are true. After the program I talked to the GM about the possibility of someone making the EBCM for the 97-00 C5's. After a discussion about volumes of potential users, etc, he asked what other Cars or trucks used that controller. Since I didn't know I said I would check and get back to him, so that is the question. If we could find several million potential users, he would try to reach out to Bosh (maker of the EBCM I think) and a SEMA vendor about licensing the technology, So I am asking for any info of other users of the EBCM and possibly the SWPS (used by several GM cars) for the 97-00 C5 and any SEMA member vendor who might be interested in the possibility of making the product. If is only used on the 97-00 models he felt that the 150.000 potential users would not be enough to manufacturer or license.
I remember looking into this way back when it first became an issue, and could swear that the same vintage caddys had the same controller. This would need to be verified, but hopefully at least a start in some searching.
As a guess... maybe the same vintage camaros?
And did the controller itself change post 2000? I know the unit is very different, but are the electronics differnet?
If an electronics manufacturer had the underlying software and schematics, maybe they could create some thin adapter or wiring harness with connector plates on each end to allow the later version EBCM to be used with the newer models.

There is a sticky already outlining exactly how to do just that. He went with the '01-up BCM, '01-up SWPS, and MUCH cheaper '01-up key fobs.....Hats off to him for all his hard work, and then posting it all......

I remember years back, the EBCM was thought to be the same unit on the then Pontiac SSE. Not many of those left, I would think - it's a while since I haver seen one.
According to gmpartsgiant.com the part number is 9367071 https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts/g...e-9367071.html
it doesn't show up on any other vehicle at that site. Rock Auto doesn't show that number at all and I couldn't find it using various names so if someone else wants to take a look that would be great.
Pontiac SSE doesn't show up at all, was it a trim level of a different model?
Checked some Cadillac models around 99, didn't find anything relevant either. Doesn't mean it's not there, someone else poke around a little.
