These are cool. Two of my friends who have 2001 Z06s have these on their console and they look totally factory. You can even get custom numbers for modified cars! :chevy
This place sells mostly F-body parts but also carries these dashplates for Vettes. They're Officially Licensed GM products so 'the General' must think they're pretty cool too. There's also a version with the LS1 C5 crossed flags logo and the new 50th logo. http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/cordasplat.html
Re: Have you seen these performance data plates? (Mecom Racer)
I don't know if it looks factory but I think it looks pretty ggod. But I should think that for $40 they would be made from metal and not plastic. The plastic part has me hesitating.
Re: Have you seen these performance data plates? (hcvone)
I asked them why they weren't metal too and they said it was something about the engraving process that requires that particular material. They look metal, that's for sure!
Re: Have you seen these performance data plates? (rbartick)
C4's came with a very similar plate on the console near the shifter that had all of that info on it.
I prefer the more of a stealth mode myself but it's a cool mod.
Re: Have you seen these performance data plates? (Mecom Racer)
Not too bad looking but really what is the point to that. If you own the car and don't know any of those specifics than maybe you should have bought a different car. Oh and how does something that doesnt match any of the interior look totally factory? Looks stuck on to me.
Re: Have you seen these performance data plates? (Tracy)
Mecom Racer--Why are you pushing these data plates on everyone, on two forum sections? If you want one, buy it and be done with it.
There is no reason to convince the rest of us that they're "cool".
Why not? I've saw them and thought I'd share the info. People are always looking for things to do to customize their cars, aren't they? I know they may not be for everyone, that's fine. There are some purists out there who don't like them and that's okay too. If I saw a cool wheel or hood, I might do the same thing. I hope that's okay.
Re: Have you seen these performance data plates? (Mecom Racer)
Mecom--Yeah, sure it's okay. In fact, I was glad to have a look at them, thanks to you. But it just seemed that you were *pushing* them...no so much on this thread, but on the similar one on C5 Tech.
But you're right, some will like 'em and buy 'em (thanks to you) and others will not. Is this a great country or what!?!? No harm, no foul.
