I've been building my own tail lights for my Corvette C5 1998, and now is the time to show them. The goal was to make the car look younger and sexier. I believe the goal was achieved, what do you think?
I like the halo appearance. Can you make it a full oval of light? Any way to not use screws to secure them so you can make a proper oval halo? Like screw on from inside the fascia?
The three yellow bricks and sequential lighting don't do anything for me. I would disable that. I'd rather have legal red brake lights. Yellows state-side are not common and I am unsure if they would be illegal or not.

Good work! Keep it coming!
Good points! I forgot to mention since the car is in Europe, the blinkers need to be in amber color, that's the reason you see them in yellow/amber. For European C5s, the 2 external taillights will be used as blinkers, and the internals for braking (red color).
Of course, for the US market, the color of the blinker doesn't need to be yellow, so, they can be as you mentioned (all red/non-sequential).
Not having screws in the front will make it look better, but it will be harder install.
I'm not sure about the top to bottom sequence, I would think it should go from inside to outside to indicate turning directions
Thanks a lot! Yes, since we have only 3 lines and 3 light sequences I thought to do it upside down. What sequence would you image the best if it starts from the center? The middle line (1), top line (2), bottom line (3)?

Interesting project. I am a fan of the original Halo LED taillights - not sure I could warm up to the light on the passenger side. But others may feel differently.

I’m an original type guy. But, I like your design. I do not like the sequential/cascade effect - looks gimmicky. Just on-off would make the light perfect, in my opinion.
Bravo for your initiative to do something outside the box. My thought, however, is that the straight bars look sort of industrial. It would be interesting if the halo was red for running, with the center red for stopping, or yellow for turning.

can you rebuild them with vertical lines and then have the lines blink in sequence from inside to out?
Well, since all these ideas are floating (using your talent), how about making the light with a series of circles getting smaller to the center.
Make the light either programmable for various flashes with a series of din switches or, even better, make the flash patterns random so every time the brakes or blinker starts, a different pattern is shows.
If you could build a set that was just a complete halo, and the halo lit up and was used as the signal id buy a set. Issue with the current halos for my taste is that they are split in the middle which I don't like visually
