Default Rear Tire Changes

I would like to put some larger tires on my z06. I would like to go with a 315 or 335 rear but the only tire that comes that wide has an aspect ratio of 30 instead of 35. Or I could get the 315 or 335 and a aspect of 35 but with a 17" tire. Does anything need to be changed or updated with the car's computer if a change like this is made? What would be the easiest way to go, can anyone speak from experience. I would also like to increase the front tire size, any suggestions. I would like to be able to use the tire for driving on the street as well. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

You'll need to go a to the next size wheel width to safely accomodate tires larger than the OE 295-18 fitment. This eliminates any "cupping" of the tires on the wheels. This was a big issue with the ZR-1's going from stock 315-17 to the Viper's 335-17. Some years ago the ZR-1 Registry had the Michelin Tire engineer responsible for the Viper fitment as a member (yes, he owned a ZR-1) and wrote/advise extensively on going wider with OE wheels.

Staying "true" to 18" wheels should not have any affects on the speedo if that's what you're concerned with. It is when you go up or down from stock fitment that the speedo is affected. Larger/taller wheels will drop you about 5 or so mph in the speedo readings.
