Default Is this aftermarket?

Hey there…

Just picked up a 2004 Z06 and am doing the blackout thing to the lights etc…

Before I hit the the tailpipes with some high heat header/bbq paint I was curious about what this chrome Z06 piece in the middle is? Wondering if it’s aftermarket and can just be pried off? If it’s stock, I’ll just paint over it. Not a chrome fan haha

Also, while I have your attention, trying to confirm… do ALL Z06 have the titanium catback?

Thanks!

Thanks…sure looks like it’s just taped on and ready for me to pry off, but…

Can anyone confirm it’s aftermarket, or stock?

Take it off carefully. Someone on the forum or ebay might like to have it.

Thanks for the help! That chrome piece was glued on pretty serious…it didn’t survive the procedure. 😢 Goo-be-gone and steel wool to get the adhesive remnants off, then touched it up with matte…gloss on the exhaust pipes. Happy with the results!

It is called an exhaust enhancer plate. Pretty popular for a while. Good that you were able to get it off - being held on with double sided tape, it can really be a PITA to remove.

Why on earth would you spray paint a Ti exhaust system? Those things are worth pretty good money.

Just picked up the car last week. Still waiting on the DRL covers and side marker lights. Hope to have fender badges back on today.

Also, lowering it on the stock bolts tomorrow, while it’s at the stealership getting a window fixed.

In the end, I bought this to be a track car. I’m just playing around with it until the performance shop can get it in for safety, cooling, and performance upgrades. 😁

Here are some “work in progress” pics…

Can’t find these badges on EBay anymore, attempting to paint them like this today. 🤞

I’ve searched and searched. Tons of stuff out there, especially custom painted for C6/C7, but can’t find the blacked out OEM C5Z badge. Searches reveal they used to be on Ebay quite a bit, but nothing now. ☹️

I have to admit that is looking great. I have not been a big fan of black wheels before but on the torch red it looks good. The other black painted pieces also work. Being a GA Bulldawg I love red and black!

Lowering it an inch would work wonders for the look.
