My 2000 has 92000 on the speedo. Don't know if trans oil has ever been changed. Should i just change oil and filter or have complete flush!!!!!!!!!!!! Been seeing many views on which way to go. Any suggestions!!
I flushed my auto transmission at my local Chevy Dealer with 92k miles, at 96k+ now and no issues. Would definitely recommend at least draining and filling.
There have been a few posts where flushing was deemed to cause a problem. In my view the problem was already brewing but others have different views.
Your car is due for at least a fluid and filter change. Keep in mind that a fluid and filter change leaves about 50% of the old fluid in the torque converter and other transmission works. It takes more than one change to actually change most of the fluid.
My car had 75,000 miles on it when acquired. In 42,000 more miles and 24 track days of my ownership, my car's A4 has had five fluid and filter changes, always with Red Line D4 full synthetic ATF.
Yes, definitely change fluid and filter, it’s cheap insurance. My filter was just changed in April 2022 while they were in there doing a 3200 stall.
My A4 has also seen some track days and I have an external trans cooler. Works excellent. Transmission temps stay below 190 on a hot summer day even with my stall converter.
