New guy here. I'm considering buying a pace car. As I look at the ads, isee that some have "Official Pace Car" on the door portion of the big decal and some do not. What's up with that?

Investigate deeply before you invest $$$. There are wraps and kits available to make a C5 look like the real pace car look exactly like the real deal. Hope you find the real deal. Good Luck.
Some of the stickers were optional I believe and some are not. As stated there are fakes out there too. If you look up the pace car registry and enter your vin you can tell if it was/is. There’s also some that were actually used as parade and festival cars too so that increases value.
also if you can get the pace car floors mats that’s a good tip it may be real. They sell for at least $1000.00 or more a pair right now.
we love our pace car, every show we have the biggest crowd and people love it. Corvette people hate it. Lol it’s a beautiful real life hot wheels car and fun to drive and everywhere you go people will talk to you, stare, stop you, etc. last year we happened to take a long weekend with it and it just so happened to be a huge (thousands) Harley rallly there. They were lining up to take pictures with it for hours and they told us don’t worry they will protect it all weekend. Lol
bahamallama: Thanks for the reply. As I look for a car, I'm aware of the floormat issue. The only car I'll consider is one that has the floormats. There are plenty of cars available. For cars missing the "Official Pace Car" decal, it is available from a couple of on line sources. My question is really about whether the ones with the text are special in some way. The more I read about this model, it becomes obvious that there are some who love the look and some who hate the look. Not much in between. I really like the look. To me, the color and markings make the car really stand out compared to the more common C5's. My other summer cars stand out and this car will fit right in with what I like.

I think that one line decal was optional but most I’ve seem have it. You can get the decals from eBay if you want/need them. You can easily apply them yourself using some painters tape to create a level line to use as a guide.
A couple tips on the floor mats, 1 get a second daily use set of plain or such, the forum here is a great place to look! I use chemical guys upholstery cleaner with the drill brush. My car only had 9k miles when I got it but the drivers mat was very dirty. This made them look brand new and the logo vibrant!
these cars are love/hate. Most regular people love them, we love ours! But mist corvette enthusiasts hate them. They are very bright and colorful and most corvettes you see are the opposite. But that’s the great thing that we all don’t have to like the same things! We prefer statement cars ourselves!
