Hello all! New to the C5 (previous C6 owner) I found my dream vette, and while I was looking at the RPO codes I saw it was a dual top car, but I only got the single body color top when I bought it. Does anyone have any experience with Corvettetopscom.com ? I thought about picking up a used top local to me and having them restore it. The car is perfect with only 10k miles so I’d like to have a top that is perfect shape! Thank you all for the advice!
Check the parts for sale forum and also be sure to check your local facebook marketplace. I picked up a perfect original last year for a buck and a half.
Another thing you might try is borrowing one for a few days. I only have the see through, and about 90% of the time I think it sucks. Of course, I’m in central Florida, your location may differ.
You're better off to buy a used original. Lots available. If you don't buy local, shipping is an issue though. I also have a 10K mile car (03 50th) with both tops and I stored the smoked glass one in a storage bag under the bed. I have several reasons I don't like to use them, but that's me.
I know a guy who buys and sells them all the time, but since you don't have your profile filled out and don't say where you're located I don't know if it's plausible.

I agree with looking in the C5 Parts for Sale section to see if one in excellent shape can be found relatively close to you. Shipping the top can be a risky proposition thus the suggestion of finding one close by your location.
I'm currently in the market for C5 targa seals. I've read foreign seals are manufactured using hard rubber and do not seal very well? C&S in Florida is where I got this info but no suggestion or reference where to buy replacement targa seals....only buy American. Any suggestion from an experienced forum member?
As always, thank you for your time and consideration!
IMHO , you're not missing much. I wished mine came the other way, but it came with the clear top. I have a liner installed on the inside to keep the summer heat out.
I wouldn't spend the money for one, but if you still want to, don't ever buy an aftermarket one, unless you love leaks and subpar workmanship. I have not seen an aftermarket one that uses the correct seals, metal gutters, etc...
Be patient and find a good used OEM one. They can be restored like headlight lenses now. I had one done on another C5 I had and it turned out great. The technology is there as long as it's not cracked or dropped.
A little haze can be buffed out and re-cleared back to new. I think it cost me like $100 to $ 150 to have it done.

Seals are NLA. Best bet would be find someone who joined the flying roof club and will sell their broken roof you can use for parts.
Ouch....just typing out "flying top club" hurts my feelings!!! My seals on both ends are torn. The seals look great against the door glass. May try a black sealant on the ends? I was hoping to just replace the seals. Certainly I do not want to create a larger problem than I have. I will keep and eye out. Thank you for your feedback!!! Happy New Year!
