Harbor Freight offers a battery operated fluid pump for sale that makes filling our auto trans pan side fill
a breeze. This pump operates on 2 d size batteries and can pump at a rate of 6 quarts per minute. At a cost of 12 bucks, it is a God sent for us. It has a corrugated see thru hose that fits the pan access hole perfectly.
Jim993, thanks for checking it out for us. You've probably changed your trans fluid more than most anyone else, so I'm not being a wiseguy. I've done mine once, a filter/fluid change@100,000 miles. I was amazed how red the fluid still was. Not new, bit not remotely dark red/burgundy, either. When I did mine, I made up an "air over oil" device from a 3ft long piece of PVC, a glue on endcap, and a screw on endcap, all out of 4" PVC pipe. I drilled and tapped one end for a quick disconnect line from my air comsqueezer, and the drilled and tapped the other end for a shutoff valve. Then put some fuel line on the shutoof, and ged it into the trans pan. Dialed the air down to 35psi, and it worked like a charm. But it was very cumbersome, and I always was concerned about crap in my air supply getting into the ATF. But it did work pretty good. This setup looks great. If you give it a passing grade, Ill buy one........
