OP, if you want to protect the front end just do the PPF. I’ve never seen a car that looked good with a black vinyl bra.
I had expel on my C7..................like putting on a condom with a hole in it. Not only was it useless at deflecting stones but it also made touch up impossible.......................

Please god. No. No one put paint killing bras on your cars. Ffs. This isn't the 70s and mulletts still aren't cool.

Drive it. Love it. Don't tailgate.

I feel like bra users are the same ones who dont change their own oil and quote line amd measure from the manual and warranty booklet.

Bras are like driving in your own car wearing a surgical mask. Nature's way of saying something wrong with this one.

Look. Here. 120k and has lived outdoors its entire life.

I just ran out front and snapped this now.

Highway. Salt. Ice. Snow. Year round daily driver.

Show me the chips. Show me the rock strikes. Ignore the flag panel which came off at the pressure washer and will be glued bsck in the spring.

If that's what you feel, you would be feeling wrong. . I've swapped motorrs, rebuilt just about everything on the various motors in my cars, I've flipped and squashed a cherokee offroading and rebuilt it practically from scratch. Your statement is a complete overgeneralization, devoid of any support, and just.. ******* .. wrong.

I stand by what I said.
Do what you want-- you don't like 'em, free country. Don't use 'em. I have xpel PPF over the entire corvette (and over my entire trackhawk, and over my entire '67 sting ray.).
Even with that , when I go on a long highway drive, I'll slap on the bra. One stray rock, and it will ding the PPF (don't give me bullshit about how PPf is self healing). around town, sure, I'll rely on the ppf. in a parking lot, I'm fine with the ppf. But there are definitly use cases where the bra helps and it's not worth it worrying about getting rock chips -- Even if you do it yourself, taking off a PPF panel and replacing it is not a cheap fix .

And the statement that bras ruin the car is also flat out wrong. Sure, if you misuse it, or you're not careful, sloppy, or don't keep your equipment clean, then maybe you shouldn't use one. Dirt underneath the bra will certainly scratch the paint. But most vette owners are pretty careful, as long as the bra is clean, it won't do a dammed thing to the paint.

Not big rocks. It protects against normal road debris. If you’re tailgating a semi down a gravel road you’re probably gonna have some dings. When a car kicks up a stone the trajectory is going to likely be at the windshield not the front bumper. I’ve got 100k on my C5, one rock ding in the front bumper, two on the hood, and a bunch of small dings in the windshield.

I've had xpel for over a decad on my cars -- one small pebble is enough to ding it. Most people wouldn't care, it drives me nuts.
For a long drive, I'd rather just put on the bra and not have to worry about it. but 90% of the time I don't bother.

I wouldn't say it's useless, just not a replacement for a bra -- it protects against swirl marks, waterspots, and minor (MINOR) abraisions, like peoeple rubbing against your car in a parking lot.
It's not going to protect against anything like a rock or pebble, and it's "self-healing" properties are grossly exaggerated.

That said, I have it on all my cars -- long as you know what you're getting and what it protects against.,

I've used the Novistretch for the last 5 or 6 years with no type of paint damage whatsover.

However, I think the GM bra is no longer available from the dealer. As mentioned, a paint protection film like Xpel will offer some protection for the car, but rock chips do occur even with it one the front end.

My C7 has Xpel on it and I also run a Speed Lingerie front cover. The Speed Lingerie cover is top notch, but it was rather expensive and unfortunately it appears the vendor went out of business. The upholstery shop that fabricated the front covers for Speed Lingerie is still in business and they do sell the covers fom what I have been told. I would bet that they can make one for the C5. If you want their contact info, PM me.

Other than that, I think Colgan makes a cover for the C5 and perhaps so does Covercraft, Wolf, and LeBra, but I do not have any first hand experience with any of them.
Route 66 Los Angeles to Mississppi and Back with an A.I. Android in our C5 Corvette and a Colgan Original Bra from Covercraft.com or Westcoastcorvette.com don't forget the mirror covers too! Zero rock damage, easy to wipe the bugs off at the gas stations with a window cleaner. And the clear license plate cover allows my front camera a good view.

Look how much the bra has saved already. A parking stop did this and I spent $700 for a shop to prime and repaint. I ran into another one with the Colgan Bra and Zero Damage!!

The bra is tight and doesn’t flap at all. I haven’t removed it yet, but I lift up the edge of the hood part when I polish and there is no chaffing at all.

Plus I can tailgate prior to passing-mode,like a normal car. Lol 😊
