Default Hi lemans edition help

Hi I'm looking at 2004 zo6 but it has all the right badges and rims for a lemans car. It don't have the stripes on it hood and roof were repainted but can still see outline of the stripes on deck lid. I was wondering how I can tell by the Vin number if it real lemans edition or a clone. Thank you.

Mine 2004 Convertible Commemorative edition is RPO code Z15.

Here is an RPO code decoder. https://www.corvettesalvage.com/2004...tte-rpo-codes/

Are you sure Ed? Your link doesn't show a Z15 code and the Corvette Black Book doesn't either.

According to the Corvette Black Book all commemorative editions were LeMans blue exterior paint, crossed flag embroidery on seat headrests, unique commemorative road wheel centers, silver front and rear emblems with inserts that say "Commemorative 24:00 Heures Du Mans 2 GTS Wins".
Z06 commemortive editions had a carbon fiber hood and the wheels were polished, unlike the standard Z06. Black interior, silver and red striping for hood, roof, rear deck.
RPO code is 1SB (but that's the same code as the 'preferred equipment group' for both the coupe and the convertible), there were 2025 of them produced.

You can enter the VIN here, to verify if a true "Z16" car:

If you use the search function on the page it does. Yes I am sure, I have my RPO codes & build sheet info.

Congrats on the car. Looking forward to seeing pics. Do you plan to restore it to its original appearance?

Too bad as that is a pretty cool lo0k. If yours turns out to be a Z06 CE you can add the stripes pretty easily

This is a non-Z06 Commemorative build sheet. Note the Shale interior and automatic transmission. Both were not on the Z06.

Comm Edition Z06 was option code Z16
Comm Edition Coupe/Convertible were option code Z15

Yes - I identified it was for a convertible. Was just pointing out a link to an RPO code info site. Looking forward to seeing OPs new ride.

Congratulations and welcome to the "Z16 club" from production #426!

I had to replace the stripes on the rear deck when I got mine in 2020. The only company making reproductions are:
https://www.phoenixgraphix.com/gm/2004cvt.php
They are not identical to the original, but are very close.
