02's have20 HP more, and more torque. Wheels look the same to most people but the 02's are cast and the 01's are forged. New colors Blue and silver. Other than the jump in HP, not a lot.

Welcome to the forum:)

Lets see... this is all from memory so I'm sure there is more but I give it my best shot...

02's have better exhaust valves.
02 cam a little more aggressive profile.
02's do not have pre cats (also called PUP cats)
01's have forged wheels, 02's are spun cast
02's have better brake pads
02 Ti exhaust different (better IMO) exhaust sound. (Better flowing?)
02's have HUD
01's had a white exterior color option (few made)

Anybody else?

:)

Wow, thats alot of difference...

20HP is alot. One question I have is it seems looking over performance parts, everything is different from 98-03, every year has a different part, is this true? Or can I use a 01 aftermarket exhaust on a 02? What parts are simular?

Almost complete, you left out one thing, that little addition to the side decal 405HP. ;)

Oh ya... the lug nuts changed somtime in 02 from the 2 piece nut/plastic cover to the "one" piece chrome lugnut (stamped SS cover over steel lug)... with no factory option for locks.

You can use aftermarket exhausts... as there never has been a change in catback flange location in all C5 production years. When you ask what parts are similar... is there something specific you are looking to change?

I believe everyone has cover most of the changes. I have a few others that I'm not sure were mentioned.

Different catalytic (sp) converter
Different air box (less restrictive)
Higher compression ratio pistons
Different process for manufacturing the exhaust manifolds
Gas filled engine valves
Screen removed for MAF or throttle body (don't remember which one)
I also believe the 2002 has the passanger controlled HVAC

That's all I can think of.

Jim

02's handleing and ride was slightly refined, from 01. slightly lighter wheels and shock revalve.

- Some (mine included) '01s burn oil bad -- 400 miles per quart. However, after a warranty covered re-ring, go like hell -- with no oil burning issues.
- '01s forged rims are stronger than cast and have a sharper edge.
- '01s can be easily modified to the 405 hp of an '02.
