Thoughts on this car....

When you are comparing vehicles that are up to five years old being sold at dealer auctions, book values are more likely to be close. There are a number of variables such as mileage, color, overall condition, accessories, etc. But, as cars age, it becomes a lot more complicated and there are many more variables. When you are looking at a C5, that now has to be nearly 20 years old, there are a myriad of complications. By the nature of things, most of them are going to start having a number of miles, often much modification, wear and tear, varied histories and availability of that history, and a number of other variables. Since most of them are higher milage and show wear, they tend to bring much lower prices than nicer garage queens.
While there are a number of really nice and fun examples with 70-100 thousand miles on them, there is a vast difference when compared to an original 20 thousand mile car that spent most of its life sitting in a garage. You just are unlikely to see that value difference by reading a website based on the majority sold which are lesser by nature.
