Default Brake rotors

Did GM offer slotted rotors on any base models? My new to me has drilled and slotted rotors all around? I did not see anything in the rpo codes that stood out.

They are aftermarket, C5 rotors were all solid from the factory.

I don’t think so. I plan on going back to plain rotors and a good set of pads for HPDE’s, Motul 600 BF, and adding some stainless steel brake lines to the calipers. Hopefully soon.

Do you not like the slotted rotors? I will also add braided brake lines in the future.

plain rotors work fine and are cheaper. Tire rack has front rotors for 66 a piece and rears for 50 a piece. If you find slotted rotors cheaper then that, let me know.

The stock rotors were terrible. If you put any pressure at all to that rotor they will not hold up. If you drive the vette like a sports car. I would look into a quality rotor. There are plenty of good options.

The early rotors definitely had problems. I had 3 trips back under warranty to deal with front brake judder. Finally gave up and put a set of Baers on around 2000. Still in use with no issues.
