Default CD Unit Wiring Question

I am trying to return to being a C5 owner; the one I am trying to purchase does not have the 12 disc CD unit in the back, no idea if it did or it never did. My question is, for those C5's that did not leave the factory with the 12 disc CD unit in the back, is the wiring still going to be there, just under the liner somewhere??
I hope so, as I could wire in an MP3 player. Do not have it yet....will be mid April before I am likely to get it....I am just planning ahead.

Thanks

I don't believe so. Mine didn't come with the CD changer nor did it have any wiring for it

Browse the audio/electronics forum. This question has been asked/answered before. Some models did have the wiring, I just don't remember which ones.

I thought I remembered there being an audio section; went looking for it before posting my question and somehow scrolled right past it.....sorry about that.
I did do a search but limited it to the C5 section.
Mods, you can delete this posting. I am sure my answer is in the audio section.

if you have the CD head unit, the cable is partially there--- it's plugged into the back of the headunit, and terminates in the passenger wheel well (I know this for a fact because back in the day, a popular mod was to plug/wire in a PAC audio adapter into the footwell cable that gave you MP3 plug in capability).
I don't recall for sure if the cable then travels down to the rear of the car, but I've taken out just about everything from that interior -- the carpet, all the trim, the seats, and I don't recall ever seeing/removing a cable from the passenger footwell to the rear of the car.

if the wire is there, it'll start under the access panel under the passenger foot well, and under likely run under the door sill. it definitely will terminate in the trunk area. probably easiest way to see if you have it is to check there.

This is the schematic from my service manual. I don't have the changer in my car so cannot show pictures. The location of the CD changer is in the center compartment of the trunk.

My previous C5 had the 12 disc changer, still do not know if this one does or not. I am getting it, be about two weeks, so around April 7th.
Thanks for the info....I will of course look in the trunk under the cover first...perhaps I will be surprised......
